Phi PHI AID - NEWSLETTERS
SEPTEMBER & OCTOBER 2005
There is yet again much to report!
Word has spread that Phi Phi AID is willing to tackle small projects, and as a result there have been a series of requests, some of which have not been completed yet, but are receiving attention. Up to date, the following have been completed since the last Newsletter with the great, reliable, efficient and cheerful help of La (HI Phi Phi):
Kuhn Nahn’s house was almost completely destroyed.
We have supplied some of the material which has enabled him to rebuild.
He beams with delight!
Khun Lee and his wife Khun Gee were in their house near the ‘Pier’ at the time of the disaster. The house has gone. They miraculously survived, but Khun Lee was badly injured and spent months in hospital. His boat was completely destroyed which was his livelihood. We have bought him another one which will be at the island when the weather improves. He talked and talked with excitement when we met, and recalled the time when he and I first met some 16 years ago!
