Phi PHI AID - NEWSLETTERS
JULY & AUGUST 2007
As I was away from Thailand for more than two and a half months it is some time I ago since I wrote a Newsletter. At present there is not a great deal to report, and I shall be away from Thailand again most of September and October. However, whilst I was in England, Phi Phi AID had its Annual General Meeting when, for instance, the independently examined accounts for the year 2006 were presented and approved. The Trustees Report has since been sent to the Charity Commission.
In the March & April Newsletter, I informed you that Phi Phi AID had bought a generator for a small community on Ao Lok Lanah, a remote bay on Phi Phi Island, which enabled them to settle there again at last after the tsunami had destroyed their dwellings.
I have now visited again, and inspected the generator, the well and large containers for collecting drinking water.
Unfortunately, most living there again were at work, but Khun Songpol showed me their premises with enthusiasm and informed me how happy they all are to be back. He expressed their gratitude to all donors.
