JULY & AUGUST 2005

Much to the delight of  a number of Phi Phi tsunami survivors the Charity has been able to purchase a few necessary items, each one identified as essential by Hi Phi Phi.

An engine for Duy’s long-tail boat.  He, his wife, and his boat survived, but the engine was lost.  Duy was on land when disaster struck.

He said to me: “Have you ever been washed in a washing machine – spin dryer? Try it.  It is not fun.  That is what it was like”.

Long-tail boats provide a living for the owners.

A washing machine for the Phi Phi Youth Football Team.

“We can now be proud to play again wearing clean kit” said one of the young boys.

Seeing the youths enjoy themselves is good for the morale of the community.
