more about phi phi aid since its foundation - 2

In 2007, Chairman Frederik Jurriaanse’s work for Phi Phi AID was recognized by Her Majesty Queen Beatrix of The Netherlands, and he was given the Royal Award of the Order of Oranje-Nassau, the Dutch equivalent of the British M.B.E.

The island used to have a population of about 100 fisherman families, but now its industry is tourism, including scuba diving - see www.divethailand.com and caters for many nationalities

Phi Phi AID’s income is irregular, as the Charity depends entirely on donations. Those have been made mainly by friends and relatives of the Trustees and Committee members, schools, clubs, etc. Much was also raised by the Chairman’s brothers, other relatives and friends in The Netherlands.

Phi Phi Island is in the Andaman Sea, South West Thailand, in the Province of Krabi, about 1 hour 30 minutes by boat from Krabi and Phuket. Travel information: please see www.paradiseresort.co.th

Phi Phi AID does not pay expenses to anyone whatsoever.

Petrol money, postage, hotel and restaurant bills are all met by the Chairman.  Therefore ALL donations go direct to the people of Phi Phi ISLAND, in kind.   The Trustees, Committee members and other helpers have very willingly given up much of their free time to help the Charity and continue to do so.
